How to Brew the Perfect Cuppa

Mocca Pot

Closest method to Espresso Coffee.
30ml per espresso cup with milk is very popular.

Method

  • Fill water to safety valve (copper thingy) in the bottom water well.
  • Add Ground Coffee (about 2 ½ tablespoons) to grounds holder, do not stamp.
  • Screw assembly together finger tight, not hand tight, you want to get it apart afterwards.
  • Put on heat (gas, stovetop, glass top) making sure the handle does not get heated.
  • High heat initially, when spurting is heard start reducing heat.
  • Bubbling will grow further apart, turn heat off.
  • Remove from heat and pour into cups.

This is a hot brew method, use oven mitts to handle Mocca Pot.
Enjoy a strong coffee!

Plunger Method

This is a colder Coffee brew, which is a different coffee taste dimension.
Always apply the ratio coffee to water correctly.
Add 20g Ground Coffee (full Tablespoon, not heaped) per 220ml cup of hot water.

Method

  • Add ground coffee into plunger.
  • Pour measured Boiling water onto Grounds.
  • Allow grounds to be stirred and suspended in water for minimum of 1-2 minute.
  • Stir with spoon if required, to keep grounds suspended.
  • Fit plunger, and push down slowly, allowing 1 minute from top to bottom of plunger.
  • Fast Plunging will:
    • Wash grounds past the plunger screen.
    • May result is a weak extraction, coffee will be more acidic.

It takes time to make a good coffee, relax enjoy.

Filter Pour-over Coffee

Use a clean filter medium every time, do not add more coffee expecting same result.
Always apply the ratio coffee to water correctly.
Add 20g Ground Coffee (full Tablespoon, not heaped) per 220ml Cup of hot water.

Method

  • Add ground coffee into Filter medium.
  • Wet Grounds by pouring water in circles from inner to outward wait for 30seconds.
  • Wait between pouring, to allow coffee foam to settle, wash foam through.
  • Continue till measured water has syphoned through grounds 1-2 minutes.
  • Pouring fast will:
    • Soluble coffee not dissolved and washed out of grounds into coffee pot.
    • Result is a weak extraction, coffee will disappointing, flavourless, and more acidic.
